Daniel 3:17 - Rescuer

"If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty." (NLT)

The confidence that these men display in this passage is astounding. They are faced with death by fire due to their refusal to worship the king. They refuse to forsake the Lord their God to save their lives because they know that without him they might as well be dead. They know that, if he desires, God can save them from the inferno that awaits them.

These men didn't know what God was going to do, these men believed that they were going to die, yet they still stood their ground and declared that their God is greater than the king. They declared that their God can rescue them from the furnace, and God did. God used the faith of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to reveal his glory to the king of Babylon and it resulted in God's name being declared throughout Babylon.

The same God who rescued these men from the furnace is with us today. He is able to rescue us from any situation we find ourselves in. Even if that situation isn't life threatening. Relationship troubles, financial troubles, problems at work, problems at home, problems at school. No matter your problem, God can rescue you and he can use your circumstance to spread his glory.

So what is your problem? What do you need God's help with? Call on the name of the Lord and he will answer. Declare his power over your circumstance and watch as a solution becomes clear.

Prayer

Lord, you are merciful. You rescue us from our situations even though we deserve far worse. Thank you that you are always available to help us. Thank you that you never turn away. Amen.
